After graduating in Fine Art
from University College Farnham Surrey, Julie combined acquired
knowledge of painting with her passion for the horse, resulting
in her first one-woman show in the early 90’s.
This lead to exhibitions of her paintings at major equestrian events
including Badminton Horse Trials, Gloucestershire; the Royal Show,
Stoneleigh and the National Arabian Championships in Malvern Worcestershire.
Her style would be described as contemporary with broad marks and a
primary palette. The artist presents her own visual interpretation
of this magnificent animal, endeavouring to capture the spirit, energy
and power the equine possesses, within a two dimensional surface. She
uses her own free style to highlight the muscular anatomy of her subjects.
Her work can now be found in numerous collections in the United Kingdom,
Europe, Australia, the Middle East and the United States.
